At its core, the light board is a sheet of high-quality transparent glass or acrylic, edge-lit with LED lights that illuminate the surface when a fluorescent or neon marker is used. The writing glows vividly, giving a high-contrast, tech-forward look. The edges of the board are usually fitted with LED strips that emit light across the plane, making the ink visible to the camera. This process is based on the principle of total internal reflection, where the light travels through the glass and lights up the writing done with special markers.
